REGISTRATION

To post your story at SU you must first register. This involves choosing a penname and giving your email address. Please note that email addresses are used for admin purposes only, they can not be seen by users of the site and are not given to anyone else. Once you have entered your details, a password will be mailed to the address you supplied. (Please note this is automated and does not come from the Wizengamot.)

REGISTRATION ISSUES

The password will be mailed to you straight away. You should receive your password within an hour of registering, although this may vary depending on your server and how busy it is. If you have not received your password within 24 hours, please check the following and email our the Wizengamot we can enter a temporary password to allow you to login.

CONTROL PANEL/YOUR ACCOUNT

Once you have logged in using your password and penname, you will be taken to your account page. From here, you can do the following:

a) Add A Story

1. Choose the category that your story best fits in.

2. Fill in the fields displayed. All fields are required except for the warnings and mailing list. You can upload your story from a file or write directly to the box provided. I would recommend that you use notepad or some other text editor to write and save your story and then cutting and pasting to the story box. Acceptable HTML to use are italics, bold, or rulers, codes are given beside the story upload box.

3. Click the preview button to check your submission before finally pressing the submit story button. This is very important. You must ensure that your submission has proper formatting and appears correctly.

4. To modify the story alter the text in the text box or just 'Add Story' if you are happy with it.

The story will then be checked for suitability for the site by one of our administrators and posted, usually within 24 hours. If we do not accept your story, you will be mailed with a reason for this. We will not enter into any further correspondence if a story is refused. Authors who are validated will not go through this validation process and their stories will automatically appear.

b) Add New Chapter

1. Select the story you wish to add a chapter to and press the add chapter link.

2. This takes you to a page similar to the Add story page. Fill in the required fields as before.

Edit Your Story

1. elect the story/chapter you wish to edit.

2. Make your changes and select 'Preview'.

3. Preview changes and select 'Add Story' when story is acceptable

Mark Story As Complete

1. Click on "Edit / Delete Stories"

2. In the first cell of each row of the table you will see your story title and summary and the word "No" with a link. Once you click the word "No", it becomes a "Yes", which means that your story is complete.

Delete Your Story

1. Click on "Edit / Delete Stories".

2. Find the name of the story you wish to delete. Choose the 'delete' link that corresponds with that story.

Edit Personal Information

Use this link to change your personal information, including your biography. You may also change your password, and enable the review contact feature which will email you when you get a review. Also available here is the ability to change how the site looks, by choosing which skin you would like to use.

View Reviews

This link will show all the reviews for a story and enable you to write a response to any review if you wish.

Manage Favorites

Allows you to view all favorites currently selected and to delete favorites. To delete favorites, simply click the 'delete' link next to its respective link.

Add Favorites

Additions to favorites are only allowed in a logged in state.

Add Author

1. Select your author via the authors link.

2. Select the 'Add to Favorites' link which is next to the contact link on the author details page.

Add Story

1. Select a story.

2. Select the 'Add to Favorites' link which is located under the summary at the top of the page.

Logout

Logs you out of your account.

SEARCH

To use the search feature visit the Search page.

Simple Search

1. Select which feature you would like to search. You can choose Penname, Story Title, Chapter Title or Summary.

2. Enter some keywords to best achieve your search.

3. Select the search button.

Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows you to select as much or as little as you would like.

1. Select the features you would like to search - category, characters, genre, rating and warning.

2. Enter some keywords to best achieve your search.

3. Select the search button.

REVIEWS

1. Click on "Reviews" or the number of reviews for the story you wish to review or view reviews for.

2. Then click 'Would you like to submit a review?' to leave a review of your own.

3. Enter your review and rating.

4. Select submit.
