Totally agree with Pumpkin on this one, your rendition is absolutely brilliant! I always felt that there was something missing, something that JK Rowling could have added where H/G were concerned in DH. Your story is definitely the piece that fills the missing space! Once again, amazing and now I am off to read your sequel!

JKR should have consulted with you on how to handle that scene in DH!! Wonderfully done! We finally see the strength in Ginny that was hinted at, but dismally missing, in the final book.
I was so disappointed in the final book, especially where H/G was concerned - and this scene that you addressed in particular. Thank you for giving both of them the intelligence to see what had to be done and the guts and sense self sacrifice to see it through.
Bravo!

As I think I said in an earlier review response, I do understand why JKR did not include a scene like this in the book because it would have interrupted the flow of the plot that was barreling along, but you are absolutely right - there was just not enough of Ginny, and her strength, and the things that make her so important to Harry, in the book. I cannot believe that, in the "real world", he would not have stopped. And she would have let him go. A sequel will be coming - titled, of course, A Kiss After Dying. |

Oh my. That was so spectacularly written...so heartbreakingly beautiful.... Such a wonderfully bittersweet Harry + Ginny moment. Well done! You have managed to capture their characters, thoughts, actions, and their relationship as a whole in a perfect manner. The depth of emotions that ranged in both of them were so realistic. If he had stopped and said good bye, I think it would have played out very much like your story has. That was absolutely beautiful. "Liked it" doesn't even scratch the surface. Would you ever consider doing a Malfoy Manor one with Ron + Hermione? I think it would be (as Ron says) 'Bloody brilliant.' Amazing story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review - I am glad it affected you the way I intended when I wrote the piece. I worked really hard to make it as realistic as I could. As for a Ron and Hermione story, hmmmm. I usually post at SIYE, so I have never done a story that was not primarily HG, but that part of DH is another that really hit me hard, and since you asked, let me see what I can do . . . |

Oh, this made me cry! Why oh why didn't Jo have something like this? This would have been so perfect as a part of canon. Brilliant. Painful. Perfect.
